Exciting News!  I have recently been in contact with and met Dale Hawkins, the son of the late, great, Hawkshaw Hawkins.  There is no question who he is.  He is the spitting image of what I believe "Hawk" would look like at Dale's age.  If you saw that big "Hawk" smile, you would know for sure.  And, he wants to be my brother, "Blood" or not!  (See picture on the right)

I am looking forward to meeting my niece, too.  Wouldn't you know, she is also a singer!

This is me on October 20, 1999, in front of our red Ford F-150.  This aging truck has hauled Dr. Dan and  me to dozens of concerts and speaking engagements in several states.

It is always exciting to be heading off on another concert/revival tour.  I love using my God-given talents in the service of the Lord, Jesus.  To learn about a couple of our more interesting tours, click here.

I am proud to introduce to you:

Howdy ya'll.  My name is Marlene Gilliam and I write and sing gospel music.  If you would like to know more about me, just visit my BIO page.  Clicking here will direct you to a page where you can listen to several of the songs that I have written.  I have also written several books and excerpts from some of them are online as well.

I was born on February 19, one year long ago, to Fred and Deloris Skidmore.   Soon I went to live with my new family, Hawkshaw (Harold) and Reva Hawkins.

I don't have many memories of the Skidmores and considered Hawkshaw and Reva to be my real parents.  Hawkshaw was a performer on the WWVA Jamboree in Wheeling, WV, as well as a regular on the WSM Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.

Recently I discovered links to my birth family.  I found that Fred had remarried shortly after I went to the Hawkins family.  Fred died 1998.

Now I have located my two  brothers who I had not seen since early childhood.  This  has been an exciting venture.  I got to meet both of them and it is wonderful to have them in my life, finally.  My third brother, Michael, died in a tragic accident a few years ago.
